Amazing! You can find jade in Wyoming?
Reply
:iconwildelementz:
WildElementz Featured By Owner Sep 2, 2013  Hobbyist General Artist
Yes you can.  Jade comes in two forms, Nephrite and Jadeite. Jadeite is rare US. Nephrite on the other hand is more common. During the metamorphic process which forms it, if can bond with other minerals to form other green color variations: Black Jade, Pathfinder Dark Green Jade, and Apple Green Jade. Apple Green Jade, especially the kind that contains little to no inclusions (the things I like to give it variety) can get quite expensive. Much of the Apple Green Jade is found in region around Jeffery City, Wyoming.

Thank you. It is a great material, but requires some specialty machines to actually use.

Thank you!

I hope one day to also include engraving or carvings to the stone pens. But for now, simple and sleek is the easiest to do with how little time I have to work on them.

Minor factures due to the type of stone or the assembly process is a bane of my work. I try to limit the number obtained through the assembly process, and if some do appear I make sure that, though they are visible, they are smooth and wont become worse.  :(

They might be refering to the slight cracks on the jade but within this art form, it's rather hard to avoid it but they won't expand.
